APEN CONVERSATIONS | Fisheries Research and Development Corporations
Join Lauren Thornton | Fisheries Research and Development Corporations, Extension Officer for NT | AND APEN’s NT Regional Coordinator for a conversation on Thursday 25th September at Noon AEST.
The Northern Territory has unique people, culture, and environments, which makes it important to have an NT Extension Officer on the ground to address research priorities and concerns. I aim to provide suitable and easy to understand information and support to stakeholders. I have experience with cross cultural community engagement and a passion for capability and capacity-building across all fisheries sectors, particularly women and Indigenous enterprises.
Topic: Practical engagement in extension work, from everyday conversations to contested spaces.
This webinar will facilitate an opportunity for practitioners to share their strategies and practical tools they use to support connection and healthy interactions with stakeholders. We will discuss how we can prevent and respond to challenging interactions in extension work and break down some of the ways we facilitate positive interaction in a one-on-one, group, or more contested setting. Together we’ll explore how to prepare for these conversations, create the right conditions for engagement and respond when things get tough.
