Ebony Faichney (Qld Nth)
I live just outside of a town called Mareeba on a small acreage. I was born and raised on the coast at Mossman but moved up the hill for work after university. I love this area because of its diversity. We have the reef, rainforest and outback all around us, not to mention the incredible agricultural industry amongst it all.
I also feel a connection to the land here, as my family farmed tobacco locally up until the mid 1960’s on Faichney Road (as in the picture).
If I’m honest, I was told to join APEN by my boss when I first started working full time after university. I’ve since been involved in programs with APEN and attended conferences over the years.
As my career has grown, I’ve recognised the value and contribution that APEN has made in my life, and I’m excited to part some of that wisdom and encouragement with others.
Narrowing it down to three is difficult for someone like me who is very detail oriented! But I’d say Integrity. Authenticity. Gratitude. Doing the right thing, being yourself and appreciating the little things.
